Wanda Sykes is a lesbian actor, comedian, and writer who has been a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. She came out as a lesbian in 2008 at a Las Vegas equal marriage rally. She has also spoken out against anti-trans bathroom bills. In 1999, Sykes won an Emmy for her work on The Chris Rock Show. In 2004 she was named one of the funniest people in America by Entertainment Weekly.
