Alicia Garza
Alicia Garza (Born 1981)
Alicia is a Black Lesbian who believes that Black communities deserve what all communities deserve — “to be powerful in every aspect of their lives”.
Best known for her civil rights work, she co-founded the Black Lives Matter movement. Garza is also an author, political strategist, organizer, and cheeseburger enthusiast. Her editorial writings have been published by Time, Mic, Marie Claire, Elle, Essence, The Guardian, The Nation, The Feminist Wire, Rolling Stone, HuffPost, and Truthout.
