In this oral history Alice Cookie Barron talks about her experiences growing up in Texas, becoming a basketball player, travelling to Russia during the Cold War, and finding her life long partner Kaye Garms. Cookie moved to Denver in the 1960s, and talks about being an educator, as well as founding many sports programs in Jefferson County Public Schools for girls and women. She talks about life for women loving women in Colorado in the late 20th century.
