Category 6 Book Store was the first gay book store in Denver formed around 1982 by partners Neil Woodward and Dan Otero. LGBTQ bookstores acted as centers of information distribution, resources, communication, and community. They held speakers, book signings, and materials not often found in non-LGBTQ spaces.
