    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[This shows the marchers from across the Brown Palace which, during WWII, was known to have gay bars around it like the Pit at 18th and Glenarm place in 1939 or the where younger gay men would pick up older gay men in the Ship Tavern in tbe Brown Palace itself.  Queer people were noted to cruise and perform sex work in the area of 17th and Broadway in the early 20th century.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[This photograph is taken at approximately 595 E. 13th Avenue, either in the parking lot of or front of the Vance Kirkland House (later the Kirkland Museum).  The apartments in the center right are The Fountainhead apartments (1290 N. Washington St.) across from Wax Trax which changed owners from Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher (boyfriend and business partners) to Dave Stidman and Duane Davis in 1978.  It represents both a rare example of direct protest action, apartments in Capitol Hill where LGBTQ people lived, and a gay owned and operated business.]]></dcterms:description>
